i heard that cmmodnet is used in the high availability package control scripts to add or remove an IPv4 or IPv6 address from the current network interface running the given IPv4 or IPv6 subnet_name.

MCSG product also allows you to configure multiple IP addresses on one interface, using the cmmodnet command which adds/remove IP addresses to existing interfaces

Everything is Possible as " IMPOSSIBLE" word itself says I M POSSIBLE
Whenever cluster packages starts up, virtual ip will be assigned and bound for that packages. Through this virtual ip only users will access the cluster package. Same way when the package is being down, the same virtual ip will be removed.
cluster daemon will use cmmodnet command to assign and reassign these virutal ip's whenever the cluster packages comes up and bring down. you can look into syslog file to get information about how these virutal ip's being assigned using cmmodnet command.
