cmquerycl -C configfile -c clustername

Can anyone tell me how long the lowercase "c" option has been available for this command?

I'm running the latest version and it is in there but I want to find out if it was also available in older versions of service guard.

TIA,

Sean

As much as i used it, think it is there for long time, atleast after Jan 1998.

I'm using 11.14 and I don't recall it being there before so I'd just like to know how long it has been available.

Re: cmquerycl -C configfile -c clustername

Here is your command from 1998 on page 155 of Mangaging MC/Service Guard pdf, adding a node while the cluster is running:

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/B3936-90024.pdf

And from the first MC/ServiceGurad class manual dated 2000 the procedure for adding a node while the cluster is running is different:

cmgetconf -v -c mycluster temp.ascii
cmquerycl -n n1 -n n2 -C cmclconf.ascii
Combine temp.ascii with cmclconf.ascii

I've attached page 8-3 from the class manual with date listed in the footer as the year 2000. So I would say with the release of 'cmgetconf' the '-c' option became obsolete.

I am still running 11.12 version of Service Guard and this option is still available in it.
"-c"

Re: cmquerycl -C configfile -c clustername

well the -c option for cmgetconf has nothing to do with the -c for cmquerycl, So not sure what Michael is alluding to.
Essentially the -c option for cmquerycl has been around for quite a few years, and as far back as I can currently recall.
If I do recall correctly, it came along around about the release of SG 10.10, and 11.01, but I woul dneed to do some work to verify this.

Re: cmquerycl -C configfile -c clustername

Melvin, reread my comment. The subject of my response is not '-c' in 'cmgetconf'. It's the change in the procedure, "Adding a Node While the Cluster is Running". The 1998 procedure was minus 'cmgetconf', but the 2000 procedure had 'cmgetconf'. And the author's question about 'cmquerycl -c' is embedded within this procedure.

BUT Where do I mention 'cmgetconf -c'?

You're confused and this and this is the comment that's been deleted from the thread.

Also you've not provided an answer to the author but a promise to do research. This underscores the personal agenda issue. Why promise research? Where's the answer to the author's question?
