cmquerycl cmd not working

hi every one .

I 'm trying to set up 2 node cluter in my d classs servers. I have successfully done some basic steps now I'm trying to build up " CLUSTER CONFIGURATION ASCII FILE" but I can't
I run " cmquerycl -C cmclconfig.ascii -n hp01 -n hp02" command
I'm getting this msg following msg

" permission denied to hp01
cmquerycl : Unable to find an unused cluster name: no such device or address."

thanks in Advance

Re: cmquerycl cmd not working

It could be due to several issues.
Have a look at the following Tech Doc.

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000082779374

Goodluck,

Re: cmquerycl cmd not working

you appear to have connected the scsi connectors that attach internally to the internal discs from one node to the other.
This is NOT a good scenario, as there are termination and addres issues that need to be resolved.
You also should NOT have the two primary boot discs for each node connected on the same bus.

Re: cmquerycl cmd not working

the least you'll have to do is change one HBA's scsi ID to avoid conflicts, otherwise the weirdest stuff can happen.

about the cmquerycl it would appear the second node isn't properly joined to the cluster.
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: cmquerycl cmd not working

You didn't tell us the version of HPUX or Serviceguard that you are working with.

In order to build a cluster initially, you need to create /etc/cmcluster/cmclnodelist and the file must contain both nodes in the cluster, permitting root access; thus:
hp01 root
hp02 root

Also, please check this website: http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Serviceguard
for a document titled "Securing Serviceguard". It will give you configuration instructions to avoid "permission denied" messages.

Re: cmquerycl cmd not working

There is os version 11i and serviceguard version is 11.14.

I checked my servers back . according to SCSI controller card slot locations for both servers are as follows : sever1 one card placed in the address 4 ( EISA) and 2 (HSC)model number D3XX and server2 SCSI controller card placed in slot 3 EISA and 1 HSC. Model D2XX.

Re: cmquerycl cmd not working

At an internal website that documents supportability issues with Serviceguard and HP Servers, I found this for the D-series servers:

- 2 nodes supported with Serviceguard A.10.03.
- No limit on the number of nodes supported with Serviceguard A.10.04 and later.
- Supported starting with Serviceguard OPS Edition A.10.00 on HP-UX 10.10.
- Does not support Single Ended SCSI in shared mode.
- Support of D-Class embedded disks on shared SCSI buses is limited to 2-node clusters.
- No support for EISA I/O cards on 64 bit HP-UX 11.0 (this is an OS restriction).

Note the last item.

Hi,

Faced a similar problem finally found that the .rhosts was not in root home directory which was /root changing this worked.
