cmtaped error message in syslog
I am building a cluster op two rp4440-8 servers with HP-UX 11i v1 (11.11) an MC/SG 11.16.
When we start the cluster the syslog file is spammed with the message:
Dec 14 13:11:15 nlunx1n4 cmcld: Automatically restarted service cmtaped for the
3756th time after failure.
Dec 14 13:11:15 nlunx1n4 cmtaped[12987]: cmtaped - cl_config_create_callback fai
led(Protocol error) (ATS 1.11)
Help, what to do now?

Re: cmtaped error message in syslog
you can ignore it if you are NOT using ATS, advanced tape services. They are the high avaiables tapes....
If you are configurint them, what is the exact command you are issuing ?

Re: cmtaped error message in syslog
This message is generated per second 16 times!!
So it must be stopt!
I don't know where this come from.
I don't use cmtaped, I think?
I didn't configure this.
This are new servers and I am configuring a cluster on it. The only thing I did today was installing a legato / networker client.
Help, what can I do?

Re: cmtaped error message in syslog
if i recall well, in SG 11.16 you should have separated services for ATS.

Re: cmtaped error message in syslog
I did read this document already.'
But in the kernel the parameter was from factory of configured like this: "st_ats_enabled = 0".
So this is't the solution!

Re: cmtaped error message in syslog
It seems to be related to hostname resolution in "/etc/hosts" and DNS.
