cmviewcl and server reboots

In a 2 node cluster, if system A reboots, what should I see from the cmviewcl command ran from system B?

The nodes seem to try to reform while system A is coming down. Is it normal?

Re: cmviewcl and server reboots

if system A is on its way going down, you should see the status of this server as down on cmviewcl output

if it is on its way back up, depending on where you are in the boot sequence, it may still show as down or if the cluster scripts are running to rejoin it to the cluster, you may see forming cluster or something to that meaning on the cmviewcl output.

Re: cmviewcl and server reboots

Mel,
When system A was coming down, the status for both system A and B were "reforming".

I was just curious. In the past, the status was "down" like you've said.

Re: cmviewcl and server reboots

When the other node is going down or coming up you will see the status in cmviewcl as "reforming" this is normal but should be there for only some time.
After the other node has completely gone down/or come up the status should change back to "up"

Re: cmviewcl and server reboots

can you verify that each node has it's exclusive SCSI IDs to the shared disk ? In other words, node A should have scsi id 7, and node B something else, say scsi id 6.

just wondering.. thanks.

Re: cmviewcl and server reboots

system A is in shutdown status. system B is in reform for a while and then its status will be up.
