COBOL Compiler MicroFocus

I am updating to PeopleSoft 8.1 and have discovered after some direct questions that the HP MicroFocus 4.1.30 will not compile all the COBOL programs.
PeopleSoft appended their Release Nots to
Merant MicroFocus Serverr Express 1.1.
The difference; greater than 16 bit compile requests in long statements that exceed a totl of 0-31 bits.
Four of the core sources have these statements.
Before I drop 18 K for the COBOL Compiler and Run Time of the version club, I would like to know if others have experienced this.

What error messages are you getting from MF COBOL?

I ask because we have some experience with HP COBOL where programs that compiled in one version (B.13.35) will not compile in a subsequent version (B.13.40) even though the program in question does not change between versionws. The error we see is in the 'ncg' as follows:

** NCG ERROR ** in

** Code generation error number 6862

** Contact Hewlett-Packard Support **

There is a case opened for this problem, but I'm not aware of the status. Our solution has been to use HP COBOL B.13.35 until the problem is resolved.

The March Application CD Pack has a problem with the COBOL.
It claims that the swinstall has a problem.
Actually it is the COBOL.
The DEC. Set had the same problem.
Log a Software Call and Support will
allow you to download the latest version.
The Release notes states that it should correct your problem.
