Collecting Graphical System Information
Please can anyone help me in my hour of need.
I am trying to find ways of collecting certain data from my hp-ux box and then being able to present this information in a graphical nature.
The sort of information I am trying to get is:
1, Workload per CPU (I have 6 CPU's)
2, memory usage over a certain period of time
3, Swap space usage
If there is anyone out there that knows how to do this, what software i need etc etc then I would be very very very grateful.
Just for info, I dont yet have CDE or its equivelant working so i cant use CDE utils.
Regards
Keith

Re: Collecting Graphical System Information
There are a number of ways you can go about.
-I- This is the most complete method and not very expensive. I prefer collecting data with Measureware. Extract whatever you want to an ASCI file. Import this file to a spreadsheet and have the most sophisticated graph you want.
-II- The cheapest. Write a small script using sar/vmstat and collect data. Than as per the above, use a spreadsheet to draw the graphs.
-III-Buy PerfView solution from HP.
Cheers,
Florian
