Command-line query of hardware to find out if CPU or memory is out?

Is there a command-line I can run from O/S to determine if there is hardware installed that is not active (because it was taken out after failing self-tests)?

We have a couple of systems that were running for a while that came up without full hardware when they were rebooted. From GSP I can see that hardware was disabled because it failed self-test. But EMS did not report the error - probably becuase no error occurred after system was running. I would like to be able t0 run a command-line on all our systems to make sure all hardware that is installed is being used.

Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,

Once the OS boots i.e. the kernel will only report what it sees. As far as I know using tools like EMS and mstm/cstm will not show the disabled hardware. These tools are used for failed hardware objects once a system has been booted. I think only using GSP, will you be able to see hardware that has been disabled.

As usual, michael is 100% correct.

The only way to find this information out is the use the GSP.

Don't forget that you can also look at things like your dmesg to see if hardware has been disabled during the current boot process.

If it was disabled 4 boots ago, you must use the GSP.
