Concerns about loading and setting up OpenSSH
I would like to get as much information as I can about OpenSSH. Links to good info sites, what my concerns should be after loading, etc.
I have an RP-5470 with HP-UX 11.00. We are mostly application oriented but that is mostly my concern. What effect would using the package would have on the application? What do I need to be aware of, problems already encountered, etc. Also, how would I have to change scripts (used for reporting purposes) that contain rcp or ftp in them to transmit files to other internal servers, where can I find some examples of what other people have done.
Thanks,

Contrary to popular belief, Unix is user friendly. It's just very particular about who it makes friends with

Re: Concerns about loading and setting up OpenSSH
Hi,
A good place to start is http://openssh.org
As your probably already aware, the product is free, and can be utilised in conjunction with 'trusted' systems if compiled in the right way.
Check this link: http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x69727bb04b5cd611abdb0090277a778c,00.html
Your question about your application, well because we don't know what application you have, it may not work at all. This is something that can only be tested your self in some instances. For example some applications are just not suitable for 'trusted' systems either.
If your looking for system security, look no further than the 'bastion' paper and HPUX bastille, which is on it's way soon.
