Re: Configuration of VSE on HP Unix 11i v2
VSE is a broad term embracing a number of different technologies to achieve server partitioning.
There are five different partitioning solutions in HP VSE:
- Hard Partitions (nPars)
- HP Virtual Partitions (vPars)
- HP Integrity Virtual Machines (IVMs)
- HP Process Resource Manager (pSets)
- Secure Resource Partitions
The best solution depends on the requirements and hardware you have since not all solutions are supported on all platforms.
If you plan to run two separate HP-UX instances you should consider using nPars, vPars or IVMs but if you plan to use another OS (Windows, Linux, OpenVMS) you are bound only to nPars. (IVMs version 2.0 also supports Windows Server 2003 guests)
You can find all the documents related to VSE at http://docs.hp.com/en/vse.html

Re: Configuration of VSE on HP Unix 11i v2
Just to add:
you can find documentation about Integrity Virtual Machines v3 on http://docs.hp.com .
This version supports guests running 11.23, 11.31, linux or windows.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
