Re: Configuring IP addresses in APA

I could not catch the question properly.

But as far as i understood.

You can create any number of APA nics depending upon the number of NIC card you have, you just would add up 2 or more NIC card and give them name like lan900 that you can do all the operations which you used to do on single NIC.

Re: Configuring IP addresses in APA

not sure again....
APA in simple terms teams up the NIC for better performance lets say lan0+lan1=lan900 and u can create multiple IPs on lan900 via lan900:1 etc

lan900 would act as a new lan card.

So what u saying creating multiple IP on lan0 with APA??? is confusing for me.

Re: Configuring IP addresses in APA

Do you mean creating alias on the Apa nic ?

Like:

lan900
lan900:1
lan900:2

If thats what you mean you have no problem doing it.

...you can also use VLAN tagging and set up different IP addresses on different VLANs on an APA interface too...

Re: Configuring IP addresses in APA

Hi Ryan,

APA is used to tag multiple NICs to have a single NIC i.e. lan1 + lan2 == lan900. Now, lan900 will act as your single NIC and you can add multiple ip on that NIC as you would normally do on your normal NIC, by lan900:1 etc.

i know this way only to assign multiple IPs. I even dont heard if APA is used to assign IP addresses. no

not sure again....
