Configuring MSA 500 G2 with rp7420 in HP-UX

Hi All,

I am trying to configure a MSA 500 G2 storage connected to a rp7420 server through scsi cable but failed to see the external disks. I can see the MSA 500 G2 in the ioscan command output but no disk is there.

Can anyone help me?

Best regards,
rana

You have a lun concept on the msa500 and not disks...so you need to create luns for the os to see the LUNS.

Hi Rana,

I've checked with MSA500 G2 quickspecs, it didn't mention any compatibility with HPUX.

Hi Rana,

Pls check if the below attached URL helps you out in configuring...

As adviced above the server cannot view any disks but need to create the luns out of these disks & present the luns from storage to server.

ACU user guide

Actually MSA was used predominantly with proliant boxes, however they are supported on the HPUX boxes as well.. the only drawback is that the user interface is not so easy as in WINDOWS
