Configuring Predictive/Sendmail/MS Exchange
I have 2 HP servers that do not have modems installed and therfore I am trying to configure predictive to send out and receive emails via NT 4.0 MS Exchange 5.5. I have configured sendmail for my exchange server and when I do a test sendmail email to my NT email address from HP, it is successfull. But when I try a sendmail test to a internet email address I get error "550 Relaying is prohibited". We have disabled relaying on our Exchange server to prevent spoofing and there is no way we want to turn this on. Is there any way around this? Is there any way to just allow only these 2 servers to allow relaying in Exchange?

Re: Configuring Predictive/Sendmail/MS Exchange
Yes Morris,
you can configure HPUX to deliver directly to the internet without relaying on the NT box (unless there is some reason you do not want this) or if you are behind a firewall, you can configure the firewall to be your smarthost (and set it up to only accept mails coming from the HPUX server)
If you have an internet accessible host, you can get it to deliver mails directly without a smart host by properly configuring your nameservers /etc/resolv.conf configure your /etc/nsswitch.conf and you should be fine!
by the way, you would have to remove the DS entry in your sendmail.cf file and restart sendmail for the changes to take effect.

nothing wrong with me that a few lines of code cannot fix!

Re: Configuring Predictive/Sendmail/MS Exchange
I am not so sure this would be an option. All our emails have to go thru Exchange because of fear of viruses. And our Hp servers are not accessible to the internet.

Hi Morris,
Try this one and it should work, create a similar set of userid in the MS exchange server and try sending the mail and it should work, i manage to do it in this way from the DEC server and it worked.
