LiPEnS,

5 points closer to the top.

But Bill's going to get 10 when he notices this thread.

Re: Congrats to Bill Hassell on 3-10K

I've been busy with Special Olympics Equestrian this weekend so I missed Steven's most gracious post until now. My thanks to all of you for your kind comments. Knowledge is meaningless if it is not shared. Many years ago, I heard an amazingly accurate description of human nature:

"No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care."

Everything I've learned is a result of many other people, from HP Education instructors to support people in the many divisions in HP, to the many engineers in the Response Centers worldwide. Oh, there were a few experiences that I had to learn on my own (like accidently removing /usr/local/bin on some 350 servers in the North American HP Response Centers) but the school of Hard Knocks (experience) is hard to forget.

I do enjoy sharing what I know. I think it is a fairly common trait among system administrators. I very much miss Interex and HP World and the opportunities for thousands of people to learn best practices. There are a few groups that have continued such as Interex Netherlands, and I certainly would like to continue speaking and providing help where I can.

Again, thanks to you all for your kindness.

Bill

Congrats Bill,
I remember sitting in on many fine sessions that Bill gave at various Share's/Intrexe's/Sage's/etc in the past. That man knows alot about everything.

Did I mispell his surname in the title? Then 65 posts and nobody noticed until now?

Hard to believe, but not impossible for one as typing impaired as I.

Re: Congrats to Bill Hassell on 3-10K

Actually, I reported it in the November issues thread on Nov 11, but no-one seemed to notice, so I reposted today.
