Well, it's just because I wanna to show that it /can/ be done in more than one way, abandoning the rusty 20 year old sh/awk/sed programming and trying to do it in one-line perl is just as much fun for me to try and achieve the resolution as it might be for you to unravvle the puzzle
Jeff, I'm doing what a perl-*monger* should be doing: mongering perl. As long as I'm on-line, advice regarding perl /will/ be flooding your way (but remember I'm no god, I don't know everything about perl). S.K., you'll learn along the way.

Justo, Wodish, and other curious members, PROCURA is the company I work for (not owner or anything like that), and we use perl in almost all our software. My own name is "H.Merijn Brand". Perl-wiz is OK, but I'd rather be "Merry" as Tom has blessed me, since "Merijn" is the Dutch translation of "Merry" from "The Lord of the Rings", from which my parents chose my name. I'll try to be as helpful as Merry, but less troublesome :)
Clemens, jij hebt toch meer tijd, dus "die kroon past ons allemaal" heb jij eerder. For the time being I'm happy with the lightweight hadcap. Not looking forward to that havy metal headwear. And those seven mile boots? Well, since HP problems for perl's development track (for which I'm somewhat responsible) are all solved (for now), I've moved some time from perl to hp.

Steven, thanks, I felt realy proud for having accomplished the 64bit build. I'm going to try the 3.1 snapshot soon, after the gcc team has fixed the hp issues.
Carlos, install perl-5.7.3/64 and decifer the perl script below :)
