Connecting a 3Com V. everything modem

I have to connect a 3 Com V.everything modem (PN 3CP3453
) to a RP5430 HPUX server running 11.0. I was wondering if anyone can provide me with some information on the PCI Serial Mux Card and the connecting cable that I need to order from HP.

I beleive you need this HP special cable for the modem PN J3830A

Can I use the Remote Port on the GSP?

HP recommends that you do not use that port. It will work but I have experienced strange problems when using it but after switching to the mux the problems cleared up.
