I??m trying to connect a DDS-4 tape on a HP-UX L1000 server.
The current release is 11.00.
When I run ioscan -fn I have the following response :
unknown -1 0/0/2/1.4.0 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP C1537A
What??s happening here?
Is a problem with the current server??s FirmWare? or I need some special driver?
Help me please
Thank you very much in advance
Best Regards
Carlos Alvarado

Re: connecting a DDS-4 on a L1000
check if the stape driver is unable .
this is the driver that the DDS4 need to work.
go to sam - kernel driver and check the status of the tape .

Re: connecting a DDS-4 on a L1000
About my previous question,I wish to puntualize the following:
- The problem that I have was be related to a DDS-3 tape.
This unit actually works OK thanks to your valuable help.
Now I'm trying to connect a DDS-4 tape (DAT40i) to my L1000 but the device is not recognized at low-level (pdc) and therefore not recognized by the O.S. (I got no response from ioscan -funC tape)
The current F/W level is 41.39
I need your help again
Thank You very much
Best Regards
