Connecting to NetApp from an rx2800 hpux 11.31
I have a new (not in production yet) HP rx2800 server from which I want to talk to a NetApp FAS 3210 v8.0.2 7-mode v-filer. This is my first iscsi venture so I have no previous experience to draw on.
What I have done so far (actual IP is 10.?.?.?):
1) iscsiutil -a -I 10.20.30.40 (that's -<capital eye> 10.20.30.40)
2) iscsiutil -pD (Discovery Target Info)
Shows IP Address: 10.20.30.40
iSCSI TCP port: 3260
iSCSI Portal Group Tape: 1
...
3) ioscan -NH 64000
Last line says:
...
64000/0xfa00/0x5 ctl NETAPP LUN (Note the NETAPP seems encouraging :-)
4) iscsiutil -pO (Operational Target Info)
Get NO output; just another prompt
5) ioscan -kfnC disk
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=====================================================================
disk 0 0/1/1/0.0.0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP IR Volume
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s2
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s1 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s3
disk 2 255/1/0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE TEAC DVD-ROM DW-224EV
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0
Note: No new disks show up :-(
Any idea of what I may have done wrong or should try next?
TIA, Lee

Re: Connecting to NetApp from an rx2800 hpux 11.31
Perform the following steps:
1. Resart the iscsi daemons .
# /sbin/init.d/./iscsi stop
# /sbin/init.d/./iscsi start
2. Rescan the hardware
# ioscan -fnC disk
# insf -evH <hardware path>
