connection between management server and client is not stable

dear networking guru,
there are agents running on the client and the status of this agents are shown in our management server. the agents from the local server shown it is running, but it's reflected not running in the management server. the client was not communicate well to the management server. how can i track the connection between this management server and client? i tried to ping the client from the management server, but no packet loss. would really appreciate your advice. hope to hear from you. thanks a lot

i think it uses port. this is storage resource management agent running on hpux client. the management server is windows. tomorrow i'll ask the storage resource management engineer whether it uses port or socket. how does it differ? the communication between the server and host seem not stable sometime up and sometime down. hope to hear from you. thank you

Check with your network team and your servers, is there any firewall?
I guess, its related to firewall and firewall may block the ports.
