Re: connection refused in sendmail

What do you use? smart relay or internet directly? If smart relay, check if you allowed to forward emails to it.

Re: connection refused in sendmail

Dear RAC,

I'm not that much comfortable with sendmail.

Could you please brief me how to chk whether i'm using smartrelay or internet from the sendmail.cf file.

Also please let me know how to check whether i've allowed forwarding or not.

Thanks,
Siva

Re: connection refused in sendmail

Alos please let me know will there be a problem inresolution since i've both /etc/resolv.conf and also /etc/nsswitch.conf.

In /etc/nsswicth.conf i've mentioned hots resolution to be done onlythrough files.
hosts: files

So does this mean that it will not use the nameserver or /etc/resolv.conf file for resolution .

Thanks,
Siva

Re: connection refused in sendmail

Check /etc/mail/sendmail.cf and check smart relay setting to know if you are using smart relay or not.

Re: connection refused in sendmail

It is set as null

# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
DS

Should i've to include my mail gateway there. Is this compulsory as i've /etc/resolv.conf file.

Thanks,
Siva
