Connectivity problem (packet loss)

I've got a problem with the networking on my N class 11.0 box.
I've forced 100FD on both box and switch.
"lanadmin -x 0
Current Speed=100 Full-Duplex Auto-Negotiation-OFF"

Tried 3 network cables, and I'm still getting huge packet loss.

Any ideas?

Re: Connectivity problem (packet loss)

Hi,

Try switching the server to a different port to a system that doesn't have a problem. This may eliminate as to whether this is at the server end or the switch end. If you have a second NIC of the same variety this may eliminate whether the NIC itself is faulty.

Cheers

Re: Connectivity problem (packet loss)

Michael,
Thanks for your reply. I had started doing that when I got it.
Here's what we finally found as the problem:

While I was out of the country, a collegue (spelling?) of mine setup a new switch with 2 VLAN's (we have to nets here).
He had them setup wrong. Had an uplink cable to both networks, and didn't tag the uplinks.
I removed one of the cables and added the port A1 on our switch to both VLAN's and tagged the port on both sides of the cable.

Long story... I'm glad I found the problem.

Thanks again!

John
