Console lag
I have an HP9000 L2000 running HPUX11.X
Yesterday I started having an issue where the output to screen for my console freezes for about 5 minutes and then will burst more info, freeze for 5 minutes (wash, rinse, repeat). This happens to both my console connection via my Raritan KVM or from a dumb terminal plugged directly into the console port.
If I do an ls -l of even the root file system I get about 10 lines of output, freeze, repeat.
Anyone seen anything like this before?
There have been no patch or any other kind of OS upgrades done in weeks. This just started yesterday evening.

If I wasn't here, I would be someplace else

Re: Console lag
The "old" GSP doesn't like to serve different terminal emulations at the same time, e.g. an HP terminal serial connected and a vt100 emulation over the network. In this case, I saw sometimes the "freeze".
Did you do that?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Console lag
no, there has been no changes made at all that I am aware of. We use the console on a daily basis because some of our software requires it (don't say it, it bugs me too LOL). It has worked fine forever. This just started last night. I have been looking for something I can use to test or find something in the logs, there isn't anything so far that I can find that has changed or in any logs I am aware of.

Re: Console lag
Shalom,
If possible try another terminal.
That GSP card can be configured on the network to accept telnet or ssh.
The GSP card may need to be replaced.
