Console Message Error ?
I know only a little about HP-UX. I have a D Class 9000 unit model D330. I plugged everything in an turned it on and got the following message on the lcd display:
"warn A008 AP Console"
Can someone tell me what this means ? Unfortunately I have no manuals, books, media to help me solve problems. This server is dead weight and I have been asked to bring it back from the dead if possible.
Thanks,
Glenn

Re: Console Message Error ?
The good way is to attach a serial terminal to the port on the back of the D330 that days console.
Then boot the box and you'll see whats wrong.
The less than optimal way is to connect that same console port to a pc com port using a null modem cable. You can use hyperterminal to pick up console output.
You may have an OS problem and might want to a have install cd's handy, assuming there is not data you wish to recover off the machine.
Hardware problems can be dealt with by obtaining used parts. They are quiet affordable. You can specify the part number required at http://partsurfer.hp.com

Re: Console Message Error ?
I found that message here:
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/search.do?category=c0&mode=id&searchCrit=allwords&docType=Security&docType=Patch&docType=EngineerNotes&docType=BugReports&docType=Hardware&docType=ReferenceMaterials&docType=ThirdParty&searchString=DCKBCA00000127
Basically you need to: 1) Attach a serial console if you have one. 2) Determine why it won't boot. Are the boot disks inserted? Are they defined correctly? Is the primary and/or secondary boot path correct?
Once you get a console attached and can see what is happening it will be a whole lot easier to help you.

Re: Console Message Error ?
Also, once you get the console connected, check the boot paths or enter the boot paths manually.
