I have an hp color monitor connected to an hp K420 internet server that I would like to remove, but a better use, and replace it with a vt100 console. I halted the system unplug the color monitor and plugged the console. I thought it would have automatically detected the console and I would get a display, but not the case. Any one tried something like this but succeeded?

Re: console
when you say a vt100, do you mean an HP async console emulating vt100?

Re: console
If you have a choice, using an HP smart terminal will be more satisfactory than a vt100. Tools such as SAM and swinstall and Glance are quite cumbersome in a dumb terminal like vt100 (or a vt100 imitator).
