Running 11.23.
If I set the nsswitch.conf values for hosts and ipnodes using sam the configuration file contains the correct values and everything looks fine. If I go back into sam to view the configuration the original default values are displayed. On other boxes in the lab I see the values as they are actually configured. Need to know why this occurs and how to correct it if possible.
Thanks

Solution
David,
do you not get the pop-up in SAM:
"The changes you have made to your Name Server Switch configuration may not take effect until you do one of the following things:
1. Restart all processes affected by the changes you have made.
2. reboot the system. This is the best way to ensure that no processes are using an outdated Name Service Switch configuration.
Do you want to reboot the system now ?"
Seems you will have to do one of the two to make the changes permanent.
