Control-M and ECS in an MC/SG package
Is anyone out there using MC/ServiceGuard with BMC's Control-M and ECS in a package?
If so, any hints and tips on installation and configuration would be gratefully received.
Bret.

Re: Control-M and ECS in an MC/SG package
Yes actually we are - but only for ControlM.
For Control-M (with Sybase) you need to make sure the database is using the cluster package address and not the host (depending on version you can set this or simply modify the interface file).
For the newer CTLM we are starting to use Oracle which simply means the tnsnames file simply has to reference the package IP address and not the cluster.
When you configure the agent you also want to verify that all nodes plus the package are "trusted" to avoid any access problems.
Finally when defining jobs you want to use the cluster package for jobs relating to the packages within clusters, etc.
We've failed over numerous times using this setup and the software has not missed a beat. I'd imagine ECS would be very similar if configured into a package - we simply take good backups of this since it really isn't running the actual schedule so a half-day outage is acceptable for recovery time.
PS Good to see someone else in the UNIX world is using this software package.
