Convert scanned images into PDF documents on HP server...

PC clients will be scanning black & white and colour documents, ultimately these documents will be stored on a HP server.
Over 500,000 documents!

Once these documents are on the HP server,

1)How can I convert the documents into PDF documents?

2)Then burn theses docs to a CD

There's no Adobe for HP UX is there?

Perhaps something like this might help:

that was quick

Pete

have you used ImageMagick before?
I have not.

Is it as reliable as scanning on a NT server then converting to PDF?

Thanks

Re: Convert scanned images into PDF documents on HP server...

Hi,

One option is to use CIFS. The data is scanned on the PC clients, stored on the HP server then can be converted to pdf or burnt to cd from another PC client.

Darren.
Calm down. It's only ones and zeros...

We use it here, though I'm not exactly sure what all they do with it.

However, on second thought, it dawned on me that Adobe (at least the Acrobat reader portion) is available on HP-UX. I use it on my workstation under 11i.
