Converting to Trusted with Oracle & Apps already installed...

I am going to attempt to convert an HPUX 11 server to Trusted. This, I know, is fairly straightforward. I am interested to hear from anyone who has done this to a server that is already "live" with applications, databases, etc already installed and configured. This server has weblogic (jvm is 1.2.2.7) and oracle 8i running on it.

From what I've seen its best to trust the system first, then install applications after.

Problems I've seen with trusted systems include ssh not working after converting to trusted, also the current verion of LDAP-UX (1.2 I think) doesn't seem to work in a trusted environment. So if you can stay away from them, you're ok! You can always tsunconvert I guess!

I've got NIS+/Oracle/Vertias Clustering running away here on a box that I trusted after everything was installed and it all seems to be quite happy. Thats my 2 cents!

Hi Paul,

There is no problem in converting to trusted system with Oracle & Apps already installed. I have 3 servers the had Oracle and Application running before I converted it to Trusted system because the oracle DBA guys where doing a cat of the /etc/passwd. The only issue that I have heard of is with NIS+, do a search and clear on that.
