copying files from home dir
from /etc/passwd
oracle:*:110:202::/home/oracle:/sbin/sh
ram:*:254:202::/home/ram:/usr/bin/ksh
rsp:*:255:202::/home/rsp:/usr/bin/ksh
cat /etc/group
oinstall::202:
dba::203:oracle,ram,rsp
id oracle
uid=110(oracle) gid=202(oinstall) groups=203(dba)
id rsp
uid=259(crs) gid=202(oinstall) groups=203(dba)
cd /home
drwx------ 11 oracle oinstall 8192 Jan 27 12:53 oracle
drwx------ 2 rsp oinstall 8192 Jan 29 16:03 rsp
when i try to copy a file from oracle to rsg ,, i am getting permission denied
how can i transfer it

You wouldn't if you perform the copy as the root user. That said, the ability to add or delete files to a directory is governed by the directory's permission. Write-permission on the directory is necessary in your case.

permissions would help you to _write_
something?

Backup first the files, than you can do what ever you want do.
Login As root:-
#cp -p
#mv
#chmod rw-r-r
#chown
man cp
man mv
man chmod
man chown

apart from this i have a doubt
is it possiable to access a oracle home dir by every one in the same group with home dir permission as drwx------.(default)
oracle is in the group dbs
so other users in the group dbs need to access it without any restriction,, but users from other group should have access pemission.

Not unless you have ACLs.
Otherwise you need: drwxr?x---
Where ? is "w" if needed.

Then you would need ACLs if you want two special "groups" of users, oinstall and dbs.
