corrupted versions of perl
I am llike a bad penny. I keep comming back.
I have two versions of perl 5.8.8 and 5.8.3. Neither seems to work properly. I keep getting "can't find libperl.so' error.
This is on an Itanium rx6600. I think my best bet would be to remove all traces of perl, download a new depot (preferably 5.8.3 if I can find it) and re-install.
How do I get rid of all traces and where can I find a 5.8.3 version?

Re: corrupted versions of perl
Hi Gregory:
Fetch a 5.8.8 version from here:
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=PERL
There is other software that comes with HP-UX that requires Perl, now, so trying to remove it will paritally fail for their dependency. Simply re-install and see if your problems vanish.
Regards!

Re: corrupted versions of perl
Shalom,
Well it depends on where perl came from.
If it came from a depot then swremove it.
If it came in binary form, you need to do a search and destory method.
Use the find /usr -name perl, same thing for /opt and and erase it manually.
