Could not connect host.

I tried to reinstall ignite

But I got the error message.
Could not connect host.Make sure the host name is correct.

Actually I have the same problem with some application on this machine.
e.g. some license could not connect the hostname. I have a comupter name and I run "hostname" i can get it.
What's the problem?

Thanks

Re: Could not connect host.

Hi,

Could you check the output of

# nslookup your_server_name
# nslookup your_server_ip

results should be the same.

Check the next files.

/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
/etc/hosts
/etc/nsswitch.conf

Hope this helps,

Re: Could not connect host.

Also check out if you have the /etc/hosts with the right hostnames.

Try to ping the server by itself with the hostname. then try doing a telnet/ssh to itself.
Make sure your /etc/nsswitch.conf has the right stuff.

thanks
