cpu id

How do you determine the cpu id for software licenses etc.?

'uname -i' is generally what companies want when they ask for a machine id, host id or cpu id.

Hi Dan:

Patrick may have answered your question but the other id that most CAD/CAM/Analysis packages want is the 'machine id' or 'SPU ID'. To obtain that, execute /opt/ifor/bin/i4target -v.

If you are using a SuperDome, you will need to use 'getconf PARTITION_IDENT'.
