crashconf on HP-UX 11.0
Unfortunately we are only using primary swap as the only dump device. I will be setting up actual dump space, but I will need to add more disks and that may take a while.
My question is, why isn't a partial dump being saved?
System Info:
HP9000/V2600 HP-UX 11.0 March 2000 patch level
8GB Physical Memory
1GB Primary Swap
No defined dump devices
Typical console message when crash occurs:
*** The dump will be a PARTIAL SELECTIVE dump: 1024 of 8188 megabytes. (wanted 1375 megabytes)
Typical rc.log entry after crash:
Save system crash dump if needed
Output from "/sbin/rc1.d/S440savecrash start":
----------------------------
savecrash: Cannot save incomplete dump.
EXIT CODE: 2 - savecrash found no core dump to save
"/sbin/rc1.d/S440savecrash start" SKIPPED
Note: I also added the output from 'crashconf -v' to the attachment

Re: crashconf on HP-UX 11.0
If you do not have sufficient space for the crash file then the server will abort the dump and continue. Search the forum of setting the size for your crash area.

Paula -- I couldn't access the listed doc so I don't know what it pertains to.
