Create remote printer with model
Hi,
I work with SCO system, where i've create a model which catch all variables such as printer, reqid, user, title,...
And i reroute the print job with his variables to a standard model which send the print job to the printer.
In Hp-ux, i create a local printer to /dev/null with a special model that i wrote.
In this model i make only an 'echo' of all variables listed above, and i send them to a file. I take the model in /var/spool/lp/interface/"NAMEPRINTER".
But i've nothing in my file else "printer XXXX now enabled"
Now i've two questions :
1. How can i create a remote printer which use a standard model to use the lp options?
2. How can i catch the printers varaibles and reroute them to another queue?
What's the good file to modifie to make this?
Because when i remove the file /var/spool/lp/interface/nameprinter, the queue works again!!
How is it possible ??
In advance, i thank you for your help.
Best regards,

Re: Create remote printer with model
Hmmm... did you set up the printer as a "raw" model?
AFAIK the interfacescripts are more or less bypassed if it is a "raw" model.

Re: Create remote printer with model
Hi,
Yes, i set up my remote printer queue in raw model.
But my goal is create a local printer to /dev/null, with a model which send all variables to a standard model to another queue in raw model.
Have you got any ideas to do this?
Thanks, in advance.
