ctrl key doesn't work in Ximian GNOME

Hi There,

I am using gnome as a dev. env for sometime.
The ctrl key to select multiple files in a GUI
window does not work, but the shift key works.
ctrl key allows you to choose any combination
of files - but shift key does not.

It is a very annoying problem. Pl. help.

Some m/c info: HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/785

B6848BA 1.4.gm.46 Ximian GNOME 1.4 GTK+ Libraries for HP-UX 11.00 and 11i
B6852BA 1.4.gm.46 Ximian GNOME 1.4 Desktop for HP-UX 11.00 and 11i

Thanks,
sumit

Re: ctrl key doesn't work in Ximian GNOME

I gave up on using Gnome on my workstation. It was too much of a memory hog and was unstable at times.

I love the features and the desktop, but until it matures more for HP-UX I have resigned myself to continue to use CDE.

I know this doesn't help with your problem, but all the annoyances I had with Gnome disappeared when I went back to CDE.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for you suggestion. Do I need a newer
version of CDE or whatever came with the box
will do?

I really liked the look and feel - but as you said there are lots of problems in it.

The CDE that comes with HP-UX should be fine. Just make sure you have all the latest CDE patches installed.
