Custom naming of core files

Does anyone know of a way to make hpux custom name a core file? ie) I'd like my core files to be named: core.

The solution must not rename the core file after the fact but actually change the name of the core file generated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry Al,

HPUX is not capable of that which you speak.

Re: Custom naming of core files

too many other commands like ulimit and savecore/savecrash are hard-coded to look for core files named only "core"

Re: Custom naming of core files

Al that can't be possible.

you can search for all core file and rename it by your self.

#find / -name core -print

then rename eachone.
