CVM 2 node OPS cluster
We need to be able to add new logical volumes into shared volume groups. We are
running a two node oracle 9iRAC/OPS cluster using LVM as storage management.
I understand that CVM can add logical volumes without stopping the shared volume
group. But reading the OPS doc (B5158-90044) Page 104, the note suggest that the
CVM licence is only required for more than 2 nodes. What CVM functionality does
Veritas Volume Manager (B9116AA) contain? Will it allow me to add logical
volumes online shared volumes groups? Or will I need to purchase Veritas Volume Manager (B9116AA) and CVM?
Thanks
Mike

Re: CVM 2 node OPS cluster
I believe you will need to buy the additional Veritas product licenses, and anohter thing to note is that you cannot use VxVM disk groups for hte cluster lock disc. You would still need an LVM vg for this, or else use the Quorum Server
Another point to be aware of is that when you use CVM, you are RESTRICTED to only a SINGLE HeartBeat lan!
One more point, if using CVM, then you cannot use normal VxVM disk groups in hte same cluster for shared storage.
Please see the Release Notes at

Re: CVM 2 node OPS cluster
Hi,
You should have CVM licence to do any operation on Shared cluster online.
apart of this You may require some other Veritas product like Veritas Volume manager
