D class issue
Just tried to boot my D380 and got:
Booting...
Boot IO Dependent Code (IODC) revision 152
WARN C5F2
IPL error: bad LIF magic.
WARN C5F0
Error Reading IPL
Any one help out on what might be wrong?
Thanks,
Jeff Kubler

Re: D class issue
WARN C5F2 = LIF not present on media
WARN C5F0 = Primary IPL warning
Maybe you should check your boot path or interrupt the boot process and interact with IPL - sea and boot from a different bootable disk.
Hope this helps

Re: D class issue
This is a common error when the boot area has been clobbered, perhaps with a dd or a pvcreate using -f to force the creation of the LVM label. This assumes that the boot disk path has not been changed with setboot. Make sure that the disk being booted is the correct one. If true, it sounds like Ignite tape restore time.

Re: D class issue
You can also fix this off of the Recovery Media.
Boot up off the Install media/Recover Shell
Select Recovery shell
When you get to the Recovery main menu select the option for an unbootable system.
When you get to this menu, select "Rebuild the LIF Area only"
