D2D VTL showing up as NO_HW
Hi all,
Using a D2D to set up a VTL I was able to connect our HPUX 11.31 system up to it but when running "ioscan -fnH 255" I recieve the following:
*****************************************************************************************
tape 2 255/0/0.0.0.0 stape NO_HW DEVICE HP Ul trium 3-SCSI /dev/rmt/2m /dev/rmt/c3t0d0BEST /dev/rmt/2mb /dev/rmt/c3t0d0BESTb /dev/rmt/2mn /dev/rmt/c3t0d0BESTn /dev/rmt/2mnb /dev/rmt/c3t0d0BESTnb
autoch 2 255/0/1.0.0.0 schgr NO_HW DEVICE HP 1x 8 G2 AUTOLDR /dev/rac/c4t0d0
*****************************************************************************************
This is currently a testing system, so I've tried restarting, removing and readding the VTL with no luck. The D2D registers the VTL as connected.
I've got to be missing something easy, right?
Thanks for help and time!

Re: D2D VTL showing up as NO_HW
The path "255" looks emulated - any additional multipath software installed?
Not sure about the D2D, but probably you need to specify a "hpux" host mode too?
However, if you changed "something", have a look into syslog after running ioscan and search for related messages. Maybe you need to allow access again (scsimgr).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: D2D VTL showing up as NO_HW
I should have mentioned that it is an iscsi connection.
What do you mean by allow access again? (scsimgr)
Also, could you help me understand the following output? ioscan -fnC tape produces a 'CLAIMED' S/W State while ioscan -fnH 255 produces the "NO_HW"
