DAT Tape C1520B not recognized on C3000 C3600

Hello,

I' ve created a recovery tape on the above
boxes. The tape was sucessfully created
with then no rewind device file. Now I want
to booot from the tape but the tape drive is
no recognized from the boxes.
On the search process for bootable media
the tape is not blinking.
Is it not supported any more ??

Hello,

Does an entry for "Sequential access media" appear when you search for bootable media? If it does, select that entry.

you are searching from bootable devices.
have you properly terminated your scsi?
check your termination!

First boot up the machine and check if your tape drive works fine i.e. just make a simple tar archive to tape. if this works fine then reboot and in the PDC menu type "sea ipl". this should give you a list of devices that have a bootable header. You should defintly have your hardddisk in the list and a sequential disk device i.e. your tape. if the tape is not there, yet it works fine under the OS it means your pdc does not support booting from tape. The latest PDC revision for the C class is ver 5. Try upgrading PDC

If it does not work under the OS then re-check your cabling.

The C1520B tape was not recognized.
I' ve installed a C1533 tape with
the same cables and everything worked
ok.
