Data Compression Tape
hi how can I enable “"Data Compression Tape Drive”
when I see in sam tape drives
my type don´t say "Data Compression Tape Drive”
and of course I can not record more that the 20 GB in a DDS4 I am working in hp-ux 11

Now, the capacity of a DDS4 is 20GiB and that is the only value that can be trusted. Typically a 2:1 compression ratio is assumed which will yield a 40GiB capacity but that is entirely dependent upon the actual data.

with a tar in the same server I can backup 30 gb in a DDS3 but I just add the dds4 but I can not save more of 20 gb what I have to review the server is one n4000

Bear in mind that the compression might be disabled by a jumper setting on the drive itself.
