Dataguard under SAP

Is anyone using DataGuard to replicate a SAP database ?

We are using SAP 4.6c on Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.3.0 - 64bit Production

But this being SAP, the database is managed by our unix guys using the SAP tools and our DBAs rarely get involved.

The reason for wanting to do this is to replicate the SAP database to a second site for DR.

Any advice/experience would be appreciated.

Re: Dataguard under SAP

We are not using DataGuard. We are using standby database concept.

Log files are replication between two location (Primary & DR) using CA (at XP level).

Once PAIR status is reached logs are applied on the standby database using cron at schedule time.
