DCE version compatibility

Will the binaries compiled under DCE version 1.5 or 1.7 run with DCE 1.8.

Should anything be checked before running the binaries on DCE 1.8.

I am not sure about binaries under 1.5, whereas binaries under 1.7 also run on DCE 1.8

docs.hp.com is an excellent site for documentation. Release notes provide information about compatibilies and new features. Look at the following release notes for your specific question.

Looks like 1.8 is compatible with only 1.7 and above. You may have to recompile the binaries built on versions below 1.7.

Hi,

DCE 1.5 is for hp-ux 10.20, DCE 1.7 is for hp-ux 11.0 and DCE 1.8 is for hp-ux 11i v1. so the binaries compiled under DCE 1.5 will not work under DCe 1.8

should we change any thing before running the binaries compiled on DCE 1.7 on DCE 1.8 machine.

We refer to the shared libary libdcekt. Please let me know if this will cause any problem on DCE 1.8 with HP-UX 11i.
