DDS command

What command can be used to check the available space in harddisk, DDS tape or DLT tape in HP-UX platform ?

Re: DDS command

For disk drives, you can use "bdf" command which shows the number of free disk blocks but I don't think that HPUX offers commands to check out availability on DLT, DDS tape itself.
Never say "no" first.

Re: DDS command

For disk (as mentioned), bdf shows free space for mounted volumes. For tapes, there is no realo way to determine free space on a serial device, especially with compression. The tape has a native (uncompressed) capacity and you might use the 'typical' value of 2x the capacity for compression but this will never be realized with random data.
