DDS4 don´t work in Itanium rx2600
I have a external tape DDS4 attach to scsi controller in the server.
The scsi controller is a ultra scsi 320.
The tape isn´t detected. I use ins -e, ioscan -f and try to reconfigure the kernel for the drives stape and tape.
what happend?
Thanks

Re: DDS4 don´t work in Itanium rx2600
Is the scsi controller detected? Check that via ioscan as well. Are any drivers required for the controller? If the system doesn't see the controller it won't see the tape drive.

Re: DDS4 don´t work in Itanium rx2600
Actually I have a question instead of a answer. I need to order a DDS4 external tape for our rx2600 server and I need the correct part number to order the drive and the cable. Do you have that information?
Also, did you plug the tape drive into the on-board scsi lvd port or did you have to order a seperate scsi card?
Thanks,
Rae

Re: DDS4 don´t work in Itanium rx2600
Hi,
Check the SCSI ID set for DDS 4
if it is used by other devices then change it to some other
then again try it out
use the insf -e -C tape command
then use the command
ioscan -fnC tape command
Still it is not working then i want the ioscan -fn output and i want to know from u what is the scsi id for DDS 4
Thanx
