Thanks,

Re: decrypting a winzip encrypted file

Go to the porting archive:

http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Misc/unzip-5.52/

Description:

unzip-5.52

List, test or extract from a ZIP archive file
Description: The ZIP format is most commonly used on Windows systems. This version supports encryption, file naming, contents translation and the creation of self-extracting ZIP archives.

Re: decrypting a winzip encrypted file

For HPUX you can get the unzip from the porting archive.

Source is available if you want to compile for other falvors.

Linux and Solaris have the unzip as part of the distributions. You could unzip on a Linux box then move the file back to the HPUX

Re: decrypting a winzip encrypted file

Jason ,

Good day!

You can download the unzip utility from :

http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/ftp/hpux/Misc/unzip-5.52/unzip-5.52-hppa-11.11.depot.gz

And , you can handle the winzip files in hp-ux.

Just install the depot file and you are done.

check the command in /usr/local/bin/unzip
& also # man unzip

Enjoy ,

Re: decrypting a winzip encrypted file

Thanks for the help, but I am having a problem with decrypting the encryption Winzip is using with the Unix version of zip. I am able to unzip non-encrypted files fine, but not the encrypted ones. Any ideas?

Re: decrypting a winzip encrypted file

Jason -
There are many versions of OPENSSL available as freeware. We have one loaded on an 11.0 machine to perform the dcryption.
Try a google search, get a copy, and off you go.

Best of luck.
