Defining Network Printers on HP-UX

For years, I've had my printers defined as remote printers residing on a Novell network. I'm interested in trying to define them as true network printers.

I'm looking for information on how one goes about doing such a task, where one can find documentation on this, and where one can download the HPPI software (I have searched and searched and searched - to no avail - it's like HP hides this stuff and then sits back and laughs at us while we bumble around trying to find it).

Re: Defining Network Printers on HP-UX

Pete,

I don't think it is there in software.hp.com. I would go through www.hp.com -> support & Drivers and search for "Jet Direct". Then it is going to bring up "HP JD Printer Installer for HP-UX 11.x" and you can download it. It will install it under /opt/hpnpl. Run /opt/hpnpl/hppi and it will bring up famous "jetadmin" look alike menu that can be used to add network printers.
