deny ftp

How can I disable a group of users (eg. ACC department) to use ftp to access the system? cos we don't want the users can reach the shell.

Hi

Add those users in /etc/ftpusers file. If file is not there, U can creat one. For more information see man page of ftpusers.

There is a file /etc/ftpusers where you put the users that deny the access ussing FTP.
Also you can find information about it ussing man, " man ftpd "

You can also secure ftp by using /var/adm/inetd.sec file. There is a line for ftp to either allow or deny by IP address or range of ip address.
