Detect DVD on C3600
We have bought an internal Pioneer DVR-110 MultiRecorder for our HP-UX Visualize C3600 but are not able to detect it.
Neither SEA nor SAM can detect it.
We have FirmwareVersion 5.0 on the box. Do we have to upgrade this to be able to detect it?
(hp-ux 11.0)

Re: Detect DVD on C3600
Hello Thomas,
No firmware upgrade.
Actually you probably need a supported DVD drive.
HP-UX I think supports 1 or 2 models.
If you happen to have a supported model:
1) Make sure the cable and such is okay.
2) Make sure the scsi id does not conflict with the controller. Its common to set default to id zero which the controller wants.
ioscan -fnC disk
The universe of supported hardware for HP-UX is a tiny place compared to say windows.
Also the OS level might be a problem. You might need 11i to detect a DVD-R

Re: Detect DVD on C3600
HI thomas ,
Try the following things.
Sea will work once u put a bootable cd in the drive , it will search at the BCH Menu.
check your all the connection where u have connected the drive then boot the os & do Ioscan -fn , then do iocan -funC disk
It will show u new disk , then create the device file for that disk by creating the insf -e command .
after that put a CD in the drive & try to mount the cdrom by mount comamnd
Hope it solves
