Re: /dev/ files

Hi,

If you are talking about recreating special files in /dev, it is:

# insf -e

This will check for all hardwares in the system and will create device special files for them. It will not create any files related to LVM ( /dev/vgxx/...). For this you either have to 'vgimport' or do it manually (lvcreate).

Re: /dev/ files

James-

The mksf command usually works for me... what I usually do is issue a "mksf -H #" (without the quotation marks of course)

The "-H #" indicates the hardware path to the device that I am trying to replace the device files for..I would do it this way since you probably already have the device driver in the kernel..

Review the man pages for the more options..

Re: /dev/ files

James, ignore my answer, I should have had your message in front of me while I was typing my answer..

I was making a reference to the same problem I had but with files for some disks I had in a jamaica box.
